Well we been having a spot of cold weather year and the squirrels seem to be very active first thing in the morning upto about 10am but not much after. They seem to have started mating we shot 7 males and 1 female out of a tree and she was well plugged to say the least. Its snowing at the moment with a expected fall of 40mm tonight.

well snow arrived as predicted, 6 inches, with a high wind chill factor today, squirrels were moving at 8am bagged a male 3 others would not stay still long enough for a shot, he was very fat, and the fat was dark orange, could this be because they are breeding it was the colour of salmon spawn

the temp here is supposed to be around -4 in the morning, only thing moving around here are "park" squirrels, they come out and sit on the roofs long enough to get warm, grab a quick meal and disappear. We've got about 4" of snow on the ground now, so it would be easy to spot one if they we're on the ground, but I'm thinking it's more like rabbit season right now.

The past couple of days here has been in the 40's. I'm sure the squirrels are out, but it's so muddy after the snow melt that it's difficult to get to where they are.
Hey Taff, I thought you told me that you never have snow in New Forest?
